Jessa’s voice notes – 2025 so far

Here we are on the last day of January, and my 2025 is already shaping up to be one of my busiest yet!

Lots to look forward to and prepare for…….read on!

I have two exciting performances coming up in February! My debut gig at Mojos Music Cafe in Scarborough on the 8th, then a special performance of ‘a tapestry of life…and more’ with Malcolm on 15th, at York Unitarian Chapel. Grab your tickets for the 15th here.

March sees 2 performances with my choirs at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre Community Choir Festival (Sunday 2nd at 6pm for ECS, Thursday 6th at 7.30 for York MWC), then it’s time for the return of In Harmony, the nourishing vocal retreat at Snape Maltings with the inspiring Mary Bourne. Such a joy to work with Mary, Meredith, and a lovely group of singers in this beautiful place. If you’d like to check last minute availability, email Mary on mary@singingitback.com ASAP.

Alongside all this, my groups, choirs, and students have made a fantastic start to the year – every day I am working on a different element of voice, and every day using so much of the wonderful training path I have curated for myself on this journey. It was a lovely ‘full circle’ moment when I was lucky enough to be included on the latest Vocal Process ‘This is a voice’ podcast this week on group singing and ‘The hidden singing teachers’ – do check it out here –

Thanks for reading – if you’d like to find out more about singing with me, or coming along to any of my performances or workshops, do check out my social media or drop me an email on jessaliversidge@googlemail.com

2024 is seeing the continuation and extension of something I love – collaboration! I was delighted to work on the In Harmony vocal retreat at the beautiful Snape Maltings with Mary Bourne in early March. Such a treat to work with like minded musicians and an inspiring group of singers for a whole weekend, and the event was such a success that the March 2025 version is already being planned.

I am thrilled to be working with Mary on a performance project next – a new and vibrant edition of SONGBIRDS featuring myself and Mary, with special guest musicians and singers, at Hampton Hub in October. Tickets are already on sale – here – do join us if you are in the area.

Alongside all these exciting projects, my weekly groups continue to thrive, and all my groups are welcoming new singers after Easter. HAC Singers Monday evenings, Singing For All Monday and Tuesday mornings, Easingwold Community Singers Wednesday evenings, York Military Wives Choir Thursday evenings. Do get in touch if you’d like to know more about any of these!

Finally………I can’t say much more yet, but a new project this year is ‘Tapestry of Life’. It combines my love for Carole King’s iconic Tapestry album, with my love for my family, and my sister Andrea’s book of poems, ‘Life, Love, Loss’. More to come soon on this!
